How to Schedule a Facebook Post: Business Suite Steps, Plus How to View, Edit and Delete Scheduled Posts

By Qismat Gul, Founder of SocialMediaSchedular · October 18, 2026

Scheduling a Facebook post used to be a button inside the composer. Now it lives in Meta Business Suite โ€” which is why so many Page admins go looking for it, fail to find it where it used to be, and conclude it was removed. It was not removed; it moved. This guide shows exactly how to schedule a Facebook post for a Page today, step by step, and then covers the part people search for next week: how to view your scheduled posts, edit them, move them to a different time, or delete them entirely.

A quick note on who can do what: native scheduling is a Page feature. Personal profiles do not offer the same built-in scheduler, and group scheduling (covered below) is controlled by group admins. If you manage a Page for a business or brand, Business Suite on a computer is the most reliable route โ€” the mobile options exist but the desktop flow shows you the full queue.

Before you start: what you need

You need a Facebook Page (not just a profile) and a role on that Page that includes creating content โ€” admin or editor-level access. If the Page is managed through a business account, your access runs through Meta Business Suite. Everything below assumes your Page is already set up; if your business still posts from a personal profile, converting to a Page is worth it for scheduling alone.

Prepare the post itself before opening Business Suite: the photo or video, the caption text, and any link. Scheduling goes much faster in a batch โ€” write the whole week's captions in one document, then queue them one after another, rather than composing inside the scheduler each time.

Step by step: schedule a Facebook post in Meta Business Suite

That is the whole trick: the schedule option hides behind the arrow next to the Publish button. Once you know it is there, scheduling a week of posts takes minutes. The Business Suite mobile app follows the same pattern โ€” compose, then choose scheduling options instead of posting now โ€” though the exact menu labels shift between app versions.

How to view, edit, reschedule or delete a scheduled post

Go to the Content section in Business Suite and look for the Scheduled view (in some layouts it is a tab or filter labelled Scheduled, alongside Published and Drafts). Every queued post appears there in date order, across both Facebook and Instagram if the accounts are connected.

From that list you can open any scheduled post to edit its text or media, choose to reschedule it to a new date and time, publish it immediately instead, or delete it from the queue. Practical tip: check this view once a week. Scheduled posts age โ€” a cheerful 'happy Monday!' queued three weeks ago might land on a day when it no longer makes sense, and the scheduled queue is where you catch that before your audience does.

Scheduling posts in Facebook Groups

Group admins and moderators can also schedule posts inside groups they run: compose the post in the group, choose the scheduling option, and set the time. This is genuinely useful for running a community โ€” daily prompts, weekly threads and event reminders can all be lined up in advance. Note that this is for posts by the admin team; regular members' posts cannot be scheduled by the group in the same way, and if your group is set to post approval, member posts go through the approval queue as usual.

When the schedule option is missing: a quick troubleshooting pass

If you cannot find scheduling at all, work through the usual causes: you are posting from a personal profile rather than a Page; your Page role does not include content creation; you are in the Facebook app looking for a Page tool (use Business Suite instead); or the Page is not fully set up or is restricted. On desktop Business Suite with proper Page access, the arrow beside Publish is where scheduling reliably appears.

If Business Suite itself feels heavy for a small Page, a third-party scheduler is a legitimate alternative โ€” many small businesses prefer a single calendar that holds Facebook, Instagram and their other accounts together. Whichever route you pick, the workflow matters more than the tool: batch weekly, schedule into your audience's active hours, and review the queue before it publishes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I schedule a post on my personal Facebook profile?

Not with Facebook's built-in tools โ€” native scheduling is a Page (and group admin) feature. Profiles do not include the same scheduler. If you post for a business from a profile, moving to a Page unlocks scheduling, Insights and proper admin roles.

Why don't I see the Schedule option?

The three usual reasons: you are not in Meta Business Suite (the main app hides Page scheduling), your Page role does not include creating content, or you are composing as a profile. Also remember the option sits behind the small arrow next to the Publish button, not on the button itself.

Do scheduled Facebook posts get less reach?

There is no good evidence that Facebook reduces the reach of scheduled posts. Reach follows content quality, timing and early engagement. A scheduled post landing in your audience's active window will outperform an identical post published manually at a dead hour.

Can I schedule the same post to Facebook and Instagram together?

Yes โ€” if your Instagram professional account is connected to your Page, Business Suite lets you select both placements when composing, and schedulers built on Meta's systems offer the same. Check the preview for each platform, since crops and caption links behave differently.
