Facebook Ad Headline Generator
In a Meta ad, the headline under your image gets a fraction of a second to answer one question: 'what do I get?' Benefit-led headlines — an outcome, a timeframe, a specific audience — consistently outperform clever wordplay, and Meta's system rewards the ads people actually click and convert on by showing them more cheaply.
This generator creates headline and angle drafts from your product and its main benefit. Important: Meta prohibits implying personal attributes in ads ('Are you a diabetic homeowner?'), so these templates are written to describe the offer, not the reader. Always check your final copy against Meta's current advertising policies.
How it works
Enter your product or service, its single strongest benefit, and your audience in general terms (a city or interest, not a personal trait). Generate several headlines, pick 3–5 different angles, and test them against each other in Ads Manager with everything else held equal.
Facebook tips & best practices
- One benefit per headline: Cramming three claims into one line weakens all of them. Test one clear promise at a time.
- Specifics beat adjectives: 'Ready in 20 minutes' beats 'fast and amazing'. Numbers, timeframes and concrete outcomes earn clicks.
- Never call out personal attributes: Meta rejects ads that imply age, health, race, beliefs or other traits about the viewer. Describe the product, not the person.
- Match headline to landing page: The page your ad opens must deliver the headline's promise in its first screen, or conversions and ad quality tank.
- Test angles, not fonts: Run 3–5 genuinely different angles (price, speed, convenience, guarantee) against each other; the winner usually surprises you.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a Facebook ad headline be?
Keep it under about 40 characters so it displays fully in most placements. Short, benefit-first lines perform best.
What is the difference between headline and primary text?
Primary text is the caption above your image; the headline is the bold line below it next to the button. This tool focuses on headlines and the angle behind them.
Why was an ad with a similar headline rejected?
Usually for implying personal attributes, making unrealistic claims, or a landing page mismatch. Review Meta's Advertising Standards and soften any 'you are…' phrasing.
How many headlines should I test?
Start with 3–5 angles per ad set. Give each enough budget to exit the learning phase before judging results.
Is this generator free?
Yes — free with no account. It produces drafts only; final approval of any ad is Meta's, under its current policies.
