Facebook Bio Generator
Your Facebook Page bio is the two lines a stranger reads before deciding whether you are the bakery, coach, shop or service they were looking for — and whether to tap Follow, Message or Call. It appears in search results, under your Page name, and in the preview when someone shares your Page, yet most Pages waste it on a slogan that says nothing ('Quality you can trust since day one!').
This generator writes bio options around the three things a visitor actually needs: who you are, what you offer, and who it is for — plus the one action you want them to take. Choose your page type and tone, and every option comes with a character count, because Facebook displays bios in tight spaces and trims what does not fit.
The output is a shortlist, not a script. Take the option closest to your voice, swap in your real speciality, your real neighbourhood, your real offer — the details only you know. A bio with one true specific ('sourdough baked at 5am, sold out by 10') outperforms a polished generality every single time.
Now schedule it — consistency is the actual growth hack
Creating the content is half the job. The other half is showing up on schedule, week after week, which is exactly what the free SocialMediaSchedular app is for: plan, queue and schedule posts for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X and LinkedIn from one dashboard.

How it works
Enter your business or Page name and — most importantly — what you actually offer, in plain words a customer would use ('custom birthday cakes', not 'culinary solutions'). Add who it is for if your audience is specific, pick your page type and tone, choose the action you want visitors to take, and click Generate. Copy the option you like into Page settings → Edit Page info → Bio, and use a longer version as the opening of your About section.
- Enter your Page name and what you offer, in your customers' words.
- Choose page type, tone and the call to action you want.
- Click Generate and compare the options (character counts included).
- Paste your favourite into your Page bio and adjust with one real, specific detail.
What a Facebook Page bio needs to do in two lines
A good Page bio answers four questions in order. What is this? — the category in plain language, because 'artisan baked goods' loses to 'bakery' when someone is skimming. What exactly do you offer? — the one or two products or services people actually buy from you, not your full catalogue. Who or where is it for? — a city, a neighbourhood or a type of customer; this is what turns a generic Page into the obvious local choice. What should I do next? — one action: message to order, book, call for a quote, visit. The generator's templates are built in exactly this order, which is why the 'what do you offer' field is the only one that is truly required.
Notice what is missing: founding stories, values and superlatives. Those belong in your About section and your posts, where there is room to prove them. In the bio, an unproven claim ('the best cakes in town!') reads as noise; a checkable fact ('wood-fired, baked fresh at 5am daily') reads as a reason to visit.
Bio vs About section — use both, differently
Facebook gives Pages both a short bio and a longer About/description area, and they do different jobs. The bio is a billboard: two lines, written for someone deciding in five seconds. The About section is the brochure: your story, your full services list, opening hours context, delivery areas, how ordering works. A practical pattern: generate your bio here, then expand the same sentences into the About section with the details filled in — services as a short list, one line on how to order or book, one line on where you deliver or operate. Visitors who tap through from the bio arrive pre-sold; the About just has to close.
Facebook tips & best practices
- Write the offer in customer language: Search your reviews and messages for the words customers use, and use those — they are also the words new customers search with.
- Location is a feature: For any local page, naming the city or neighbourhood in the bio is the single highest-value edit you can make.
- One call to action only: 'Message us to order' converts. 'Message, call, visit our website or email us' converts nobody — pick the action that makes you money.
- Update the bio when the offer changes: Seasonal menus, new services, new delivery areas — a stale bio quietly promises things you no longer sell.
- Match the bio to your pinned post: Bio promises, pinned post proves. If the bio says custom cakes, the pinned post should show your best custom cake.
Frequently asked questions
How long can a Facebook Page bio be?
The short Page bio displays in tight spaces and long text gets trimmed in several placements, so shorter is safer. Every option this generator produces is shown with its character count, and the templates are designed to stay within roughly 255 characters — if you edit one longer, preview it on your Page before saving.
What is the difference between the bio and the About section?
The bio is the short text shown under your Page name, in search results and in share previews — two lines to say what you offer and for whom. The About section is the longer description on your Page where your story, services and practical details belong.
Should my bio include emojis?
One or two, if they fit your brand — a bakery can get away with what a law firm cannot. Emojis eat characters and can look unprofessional in serious categories; the Minimal and Professional tones here use none, Friendly uses them lightly.
Can I use this for a personal profile instead of a Page?
Yes — the same structure works for a creator or professional profile: name, what you do, who it helps, one call to action. Choose the Creator / Personal Brand page type and a tone that sounds like you.
Is this Facebook bio generator free?
Yes — free and unlimited, running entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
